About IEEE

IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) is basically two joined foundation named AIEE for Electrical & IRE for Electronics. The organization related to electricity was founded in 1884 in New York, USA, to help the professionals in the related field. Accordingly, earlier it was named AIEE (American Institute of Electrical Engineers). In 1912, Based to the wireless telegraphy and radio electronics, a new society named IRE (Institute of Radio Engineers) was founded. IRE was modeled on the AIEE but was devoted broadly to electronics. In 1940 the IRE industry grew faster than AIEE. Due to the Increment of the dependency of these two societies on each other, AIEE & IEE merged together at 1963 and became IEEE. Presently IEEE has got about 400,000 members in about 160 countries. IEEE has become the world's largest technical professional association by its global networks, publications and conferences.
